5 highest-paid female celebs in 2015

We’ve heard over the radio waves that girls run the world, but which ones exactly? Forbes has sorted out this conundrum by counting up the earnings of female entertainers who have penned hits, sung and laughed all the way to the bank in 2015.

1. Katy Perry ($135 million)
Each time the Roar singer hits the stage on her Prismic World Tour, she banks a cool $2 million. Add that to the massive endorsement deals she has with Coty, Claire’s and Covergirl and her fortune swells to something of a teenage dream.

2. Taylor Swift ($80 million)
In between days posting numerous ‘swifties’ and promoting her own ‘Swiftmas’ spirit, the 26-year-old picks up a $4 million dollar check each night of her 1989 tour. Chances are she’ll top the list next year.

3. Ellen DeGeneres ($75 million)
Hollywood’s best-paid TV personality offers way more than a couple of funny punchlines. The 57-year-old is extremely quick-witted about harvesting the power of the internet and shifting viewer behavior in her favor. Her producing company Very Good Productions also has numerous shows currently on air.

4. Lady Gaga ($59 million)
The Fame Monster has long been a mainstay on the list of powerful ladies in the entertainment industry. She played a mammoth 66 shows during the scoring period while massive endorsement deals with Versace and MAC kept padding her earnings for the year.

5. Beyoncé Knowles ($54.5 million)
Queen B dropped four places this year after topping the list last year, but she was no slouch in 2015. Placing fifth is not a bad follow-up to the year her On The Run tour with husband Jay-Z grossed more than $100 million.
