When Audemars Piguet opened its doors on the cobblestone walkway of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the stars came flocking in.
The luxury Swiss watchmaker’s glamorous cast of brand ambassadors arrived in expected style.
Freida Pinto, Serena Williams, James Corden, Alessandra Ambrosio, Anthony Anderson, John Mayer, Olivia Palermo, Kevin Hart, Joel McHale and Jeremy Piven were all present at the Two Rodeo shopping district opening.
Workers were still spreading artificial snow along the not-so-freezing LA walkway when Sylvester Stallone, an avid watch collector, arrived. Staff took the Expendibles star on a tour of the 1342-square-foot, three-level boutique fitted with polished oak, Vals stone and slick metallic surfaces, WWD reports.
According to the brand, the new LA boutique evokes the natural beauty of the Vallée de Joux region in Switzerland where its timepieces have been crafted for the past 140 years. It is also the family-owned brand’s fourth location in the US after openings in Las Vegas, New York and Bal Harbour in Florida.
“We are proud to partner with Westime on another west coast location for the brand,” Audemars Piguet North America CEO Xavier Nolot said. “Rodeo Drive is a cultural landmark and Audemars Piguet is excited to strengthen our roots in such a world renowned shopping destination.”
The brand now boasts 50 stores in 38 countries. “By 2021 our goal is to have 100 boutiques in the world,” Worldwide CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias said. “There is a lot still to do.”
