“For cowards, living is punishment,” said Pat Morita to Ralph Macchio in possibly the most well-known deleted scene of all time, the original (and eventually cut) denouement of The Karate Kid. But living – and aging – is punishment for everyone. That includes Macchio, whose wobbly plump rump and baggy eyes betrayed his advancing age in sequels.
