In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last week, you should know that Game of Thrones premiered its seventh season on Sunday. And everyone—from regular people like you and I, to A+ celebrities in Hollywood—were freaking out about it.
And for good reason!
The HBO drama is considered to be one of the greatest TV shows of the century. It’s unique blend passions, blood, and dragons have made it not only one the favorite series of many, but it is also one of the biggest moneymakers in TV at the moment.
While much of Game of Thrones’ astronomical success is thanks to George R.R. Martin’s out-of-this-world story, the show certainly benefits from the talents of actors such as Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Maisie Williams, who are now household names thanks to the series.
But it wasn’t always like that.
Even the most powerful kings, queens, khals, and mothers of dragons had to start had to start somewhere.
Before the cast of Game of Thrones found themselves caught up in the fight for the Iron Throne and the right to rule the Seven Kingdoms, they had other, much less intense roles.
These is how 18 Game of Thrones stars looked before they were part of the cultural phenomenon.
