This year there were numerous celebrities who turned down the Super Bowl for a variety of reasons—from the treatment of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the kneeling controversy, to the blatant “no-call” at a Rams vs. Saints game.
While the Super Bowl always means big money for celebrities, that didn’t stop them from turning down these high-paying gigs. From Rihanna to Amy Schumer, many celebrities rejected the opportunity to perform at the halftime show and to star in a Super Bowl 2019 commercial.
