‘Green Book’ and the 10 Worst Best Picture Winners

On Sunday, Green Book joined the ranks of the worst Best Picture winners. The highly divisive biographical film beat the odds and won the highest honor of the night, along with two other major awards—Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor. However, its controversial film felt a sense of déjà vu in watching a polarizing drama about race relations triumph over a critically acclaimed art house favorite.

Green Book beating Roma for Best Picture has now inspired countless comparisons to Crash beating Brokeback Mountain, and many other snubs that prove the Academy Awards not always celebrate the best in film.
