Pavard was forced off the field in the first half of Saturday’s (4) 2-1 win at Atalanta. The team released a statement this Monday (6) explaining that Pavard “will have to wear a knee brace for three to four weeks before beginning rehabilitation work”, for a dislocation in a ligament in his left knee.

The statement did not clarify how long the player will be sidelined for, but the Italian press reported that he may not return before the end of the year. Pavard will miss Wednesday’s (8) Champions League match against RB Salzburg, as well as France’s last two Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece.

Pavard was world champion with France in 2018. He joined Inter Milan from Bayern Munich at the end of August, and has already made nine appearances this season.
