“I honestly believe I’ve done enough [to get into the Hall of Fame]. When you think about the Hall of Fame, you usually think about the most obvious players, right? Not the other inductees. You see an unknown coach going into the Hall of Fame in the same year. There will be players and coaching staff going to the Hall of Fame,” Williams said.

Recognized his achievements, including three “Best Sixth Man” awards, sharing the top title with Jamal Crawford, Lou Williams believes his impact on the game is deserving of the honor. He highlighted the importance of making a unique impact on basketball, something he believes he has achieved. “The Basketball Hall of Fame is about making an impact on the game that no one else has been able to make. I feel like I, especially, did that. I feel like Jamal [Crawford] did that.”

When discussing his career, Williams highlighted his ability to play the role of sixth man in his 17-year career, having started just 122 games, averaging 13.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He reflected on his contribution to the Atlanta Hawks, leading the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, although they were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks.
