United announced Shaw’s return this Wednesday (22), in the club’s Instagram account. The left-back had sustained a “muscle issue” in August, making only two appearances this season. Now he is back in full training, ahead of Sunday’s (26) Premier League match against Everton.

Shaw’s injury was a big problem for United, as left-back Tyrell Malacia has been also sidelined all season due to an injury. Sergio Reguilon was loaned from Tottenham as another option for the position, while Sofyan Amrabat, Diogo Dalot and Victor Lindelof have also filled in.

United have endured an erratic start to the campaign this season, as they are on the verge of Champions League elimination. They have lost five of their first 12 Premier League games, and are in sixth position. The team also has other players sidelined by injuries, like Christian Eriksen that has a knee injury. Rasmus Hojlund has an injury to the thigh tendon in his left leg. Andre Onana got injured on Cameroon duty.
