Last Tuesday (28), in an interview with the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Jonas Vingegaard recalled the trajectory of his professional cycling career and revealed important details of the competitions he attended. Throughout the conversation, Jonas Vingegaard confessed that there was a period in his career when he missed an anti-doping test and currently, due to the action, he is extremely careful to fulfill all his commitments. As justification, the athlete revealed that he was away from his cell phone when the alarm rang and after that, he was unable to assist employees, just two days later he took the exam.

“You take the test there, but of course, it’s not good to have a missed test hanging over you. It’s definitely something I think about later to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I don’t think it’s difficult. You always have to remember that. It’s a hassle, but when I’m at home it’s not so difficult”, said the athlete.

Analyzing the testing practice, the cyclist reinforces how important it is to carry out the exams to certify fair and positive competitions: “It’s good to be tested all the time. Somehow drivers can still cheat, so I don’t just want to say I’m the most tested driver. I have not tested positive. They did something back then, and people will definitely believe that the drivers will do it again.”

The cyclist also commented on the case of his teammate, Michel Hessmann, in which he showed signs of substances related to doping in one of his tests. By decision of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the cyclist is suspended for four years from competitions in the category.
