Sauber is preparing to become Audi’s factory team in 2026. They are building their own engine for the new rules that will come into force in two years’ time. The rules will introduce fully sustainable synthetic electronic fuels with zero carbon emissions, along with a much higher proportion of hybrid power coming from the engine – up to around 50% from the current 20%. Until then, they will continue to use Ferrari engines.

The official entry list published this Friday by Formula 1 governing body, the FIA, the Red Bull junior team kept the name Alpha Tauri. They had been thinking of changing their title but instead simply added the letters “RB” as a suffix.
