The NBA revealed the first partial voting for the All-Star Game last Thursday (4). LeBron James, star of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, star of the Milwaukee Bucks, lead their respective conferences in this disclosure. Antetokounmpo received the most votes of any player in the league, accumulating 2,171,812 votes. Meanwhile, LeBron, in his 21st season in the NBA, has 2,008,645 votes so far.

Joel Embiid, center of the Philadelphia 76ers, Kevin Durant, power forward of the Phoenix Suns, and the power forward of the Boston Celtics are the next most voted by fans. Fan votes contribute 50% of the total to the selection of All-Star Game starters, while NBA players and a press panel each have 25%. The next update is scheduled for next Thursday (11), and the holders will be revealed at the end of January (25).

Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks, occupying second place in the Eastern Conference, with impressive averages of 30.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 33 games, in addition to a remarkable 60.6% shooting from the field, his best career performance. The Greek Freak also records 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

Despite the Lakers’ unstable campaign, currently in 10th place in the Western Conference, the last spot for the play-in, LeBron James, at just 39 years old, maintains an impressive performance. He averages 25 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.4 assists, with an efficiency of 52.8% on shots from the field and 39.5% on three-point shots. Additionally, he records 1.4 steals per game.
