In the conversation, Henry Louis Gates Jr explained that in his first program, similar to the current one, he had carried out studies on celebrities who could be related but, at the time, experts still did not have enough tests, proofs and certifications to prove the hypotheses of kinship.

“When I started the series, it was called African American Lives and I only played African Americans. In the first series, I played Oprah Winfrey, Quincy Jones, Chris Tucker, Bishop TD Jakes and Whoopi, and we didn’t have the sophisticated tests that we use now for DNA back then,” said the historian.

Upon learning of her relationship, the actress was perplexed by the connection she had with the star in the National Football League (NFL), so she invited him to meet her at a dinner with her family and even appear on the program in which she is a presenter. The program’s companions were also surprised by the revelation.

Tony Gonzalez is recognized in the sports category for having been a great player and for having several titles such as being elected Pro Bowler 14 times and All-Pro six times, 111 touchdowns and more than 15 thousand interception yards. In 2019, he was enshrined in the Ohio Pro Football Hall of Fame.
