Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer in doubt for Saturday’s (10) game against Bayer Leverkusen.
Munich manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed the news this Friday (9), saying that Neuer battles to recover from a knee injury. The goalkeeper hasn’t trained with the team this week, and was only able to complete an individual session on Thursday (8).
“Manu will try and take part in the goalkeeper training today. It’s Manu so we’ll give him until Saturday at 5pm to tell us if he’s OK”, said Tuchel to the reporters. Neuer returned to action in October, after almost a year sidelined due to a broken leg.
Tuchel also confirmed that back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulreich will play if Neuer is unable to. Third-choice Daniel Peretz is also out with a knee injury.
