Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer talked about the cardiac arrest he suffered during a match last year.

++Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says no one forced Trent Alexander-Arnold to return from injury too soon

Lockyer was resuscitated after his heart stopped beating for two minutes and 40 seconds in the Premier League game against Bournemouth in December 2023. “I’m incredibly lucky to be alive”, said Lockyer on Sunday (18), on Sky Sports.

++Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says the allegations against him are “distraction”

“We will be dictated to by the medical staff and specialists but if there was a chance I could play again, and I’m not going to do anything against the specialists’ recommendations, then I would love to”, explained the player.

“It’s far too early to say, there are a lot more tests and things that need to happen in the background but I wouldn’t write it off”, added Lockyer. This was the second time the center-back had had a heart problem.

In May 2023, he had a problem during the Hatters’ victory in the play-off final against Coventry City. He underwent minor surgery and was able to play again before the second incident on December 16.
