In his Instagram account, Kroos shared the news and explained why he decided to come back. “I’ll be playing for Germany again from March. Why? Because I was asked by the coach and I’m up for it”, he wrote in the caption.

“I’m sure that much more is possible with the team at the European Championship than most people think right now”, he added. Kroos was part of the Germany squad that won the World Cup in 2014.

The midfielder retired in July 2021, but decided to reverse his decision after talking with Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann. He is eligible to be selected for next month’s international friendlies against France and the Netherlands.
