The forward will rest for Brazil’s friendly, in the hope he will recover to face Belgium on Tuesday (26). England’s manager Gareth Southgate will have to choose between Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Brentford’s Ivan Toney to replace Kane.

Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson also missed the group training. Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was already officially absent and returned to his club for “continued rehabilitation”, according to a FA statement.
