Pep Guardiola has defended Erling Haaland following Roy Keane’s criticism.

++Manchester United defenders Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof ruled out due to injuries

After City’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday (31), the ex-Manchester United captain said that Haaland’s “general play” is “so poor” and “almost like a League Two player”. When asked about Keane’s comments, coach Guardiola said he didn’t agree with him.

++Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he is “full of energy”

“I don’t agree with him, absolutely not. He’s the best striker in the world”, said the manager. “He helped us win last season and the reason why we didn’t create many answers from Erling is we need more presence in the final third with more people”, he added.

“We played an exceptional game, I reviewed the game against Arsenal but we just missed more people in the final third. The quality and different skill set we have, Haaland is exceptional”, praised Guardiola.
