This Sunday (17), Teyana Taylor announced that she and Iman Shumpert have split after seven years of marriage.

She posted a photo of her and Shumpert on her Instagram account, and wrote in the caption about the split. “AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 100% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children”.

She continued talking about her family. “Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT. We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise.”
Taylor even stated that she decided to share herself the breakup news to quiet the “narratives” that have gotten “a little out of hand”. She ended by writing that it was “unfair to all parties involved” and that she hoped “this provided some clarity”.
Shumpert has yet not addressed the split news. Last week he was accused of cheating, when a rapper was seen using his chain in a video, where his voice can be heard. He defended himself, saying that the woman was an artist of his label.
The former couple started dating in 2014, one year before engagement. They welcomed their first daughter Iman “Junie” Tayla Jr. in 2015, and their second daughter, Rue Rose in 2020.
