Actress Angelica Ross held a live broadcast on Instagram to report an incident of transphobia that allegedly occurred on the set of the series “American Horror Story: 1984”, released in 2019.

She alleges that protagonist Emma Roberts made a transphobic comment during filming. They were both on set when a crew member said, “Okay, girls, let’s get back to work.” Emma Roberts then added: “Don’t you mean girl?”, insinuating that Angelica is not a woman. Angelica states that, at that moment, she didn’t respond due to fear: “She left, and my blood was boiling. I was thinking. If I say something, they’ll blame me. I know this because someone else talked about what she was doing and faced consequences.”

The actress also reports that a crew member wore t-shirts with racist messages during filming. The clothing displayed slogans such as “build that wall” (referring to the wall that Donald Trump promised to build on the US-Mexico border) and “America First.”
Angelica reveals that her career was damaged by director Ryan Murphy. He had promised a season of “American Horror Story” with a cast made up of black women and even asked Angelica who should be part of that cast along with her. During these negotiations, she received offers to act in Marvel films, but chose to wait for a response from Murphy about the series, which never materialized.
