Dwayne Johnson has officially spoken out after the controversies surrounding his statue at the Grévin wax museum in Paris.

The piece, opened last week, went viral on social media after many people expressed surprise at the bleaching of the star’s skin. On his Instagram profile, the actor agreed with the criticism and stated that he will contact his team to contact the museum and request an “update” of the statue to change some details, especially its skin color.

Known as The Rock, the actor shared a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr., who criticized the statue. “It looks like The Rock has never seen sunlight in his life. Why did they take all the color out of The Rock? He looks like David Beckham. He looks like he’s going to be part of the royal family. That’s how you felt when Did they miss the Little Mermaid?” James posted.

In contact with the website Deadline, Grévin said: “Dwayne Johnson is right, we noticed this and obviously we will remedy it as quickly as possible and send you new photos as soon as they are completed.”
