On Oscar night, everyone was faced with an embarrassing situation, to say the least. Comedian Chris Rock made a joke about Jada’s hair while presenting the award for best documentary. He compared her to a bold character. Her husband Will Smith didn’t like it at all, went up to the stage and slapped him. Right after that, he won the Best actor award for the film King Richard.

The next day The Academy opened an investigation and debate to deliberate the punishments for Smith’s assault. Meanwhile Will published an apology to the public, to The Academy and to the comedian.

However the person most affected by the situation was Jada, who clearly felt bad about the joke. She made a statement on social media, and said that this is a “period of healing”. She did not mention the situation itself, but she showed firmless in saying that she is ready for the moment of healing. Smith’s case is still being analyzed by The Academy.
