Taylor Swift finally released “Midnights”, her long-awaited tenth studio album in the early hours of last Friday (21). And to the fans’ surprise, a few hours later the singer released a deluxe version, ‘Midnights (3am Edition)’, with seven new tracks.
Upon revealing the news, Taylor wrote on her Instagram account: “Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find the magic 13. I’m calling them at 3am tracks. Lately I’ve been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we with From The Vault tracks. So it’s 3am and I’m giving them to you now.”
Furthermore, the video for the single “Anti-Hero”, written and directed by the artist, was also made available on Youtube. In the very personal lyrics, Taylor details insecurities and various inner fears. In the video, Swift appears interacting with three other versions of herself and moves through scenarios created by her own nightmares.
Midnights was inspired by 13 nights the singer went without sleep. On her Instagram profile, Taylor revealed that ‘Midnights’ will be a visual album and all tracks should get music videos. Next Tuesday (24) another song from Taylor’s album should get a clip.
