The first message from the verified account @BidenHQ was: “Let’s watch how this unfolds. Converts welcome!”, accompanied by an image in which Biden is portrayed as a superhero with red laser eyes. Your team confirmed the authenticity of the profile. The 80-year-old Biden’s re-election campaign continued with a series of posts criticizing Trump, the favorite among Republicans, made by his rivals from the same party, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley.

“We just joined Truth Social, mainly because we thought it would be really fun,” Biden’s team declared in a post on X, the former Twitter-like platform. Trump founded Truth Social in 2021, after being permanently banned from Twitter for advocating violence following the attack on the Capitol by his supporters on January 6. The attack came after Trump falsely claimed that he, not Biden, had won the 2020 election, one of the allegations for which he faces multiple lawsuits.

The two leaders appear to be increasingly preparing for a possible rematch in the November 2024 elections. At the end of 2022, tycoon Elon Musk restored Trump’s account on X, but the former president remained distant from the platform, except when he published his mugshot after a brief arrest in an election interference case in the state of Georgia.
