Donald Trump expressed scathing criticism of Robert De Niro, with whom he has had long-standing animosity, in a vehement message on social media. In yet another episode of their disagreement, Trump accused the actor of being “disrespectful” to the country, advising him to focus on his own life.

In the post, Trump claimed that De Niro, whose acting skills had reportedly declined significantly, was using a teleprompter even for his vulgar and disrespectful speech toward the United States.

The former president went on to claim that De Niro had become unwatchable both in cinema and to those who, according to him, ruined the prestige of the Oscars. The criticisms were published on his platform Truth Social, in which he stated that De Niro should focus on his life, which, according to Trump, was in chaos, instead of meddling in the lives of others. Trump concluded by calling De Niro a complete failure, while the world watches, waits and laughs.

These incisive words from Trump were a response to allegations from De Niro, who said he was censored when he tried to give a speech critical of the politician at a ceremony last month. According to De Niro, the beginning of his speech was edited without his knowledge, and he expressed concerns about the distortion of history, truth and facts, attributing this to conspiracy theories and a culture of lies that he says it has become a common tool of charlatans.
