“Hello friends, I’m very excited to spend my first time in Colombia at the Tour of Colombia next year. It’s one of the biggest races in Latin America, so come see us, from February 6th to 11th, in a country that has produced some incredible cyclists”, said the athlete in the promotional video on social media.

Alexander Vinokourov, team manager at Astana Qazaqstan, told details about the training: “We will hold a second altitude camp for Mark before the Tour. It’s also useful because the Tour de France is very hilly this year, and the first week is really very difficult. We have to work hard on how he handles the climbs.”

The coach said that in preparation, cyclists need to work in the best way possible to achieve the physical condition possible to cover the entire competition route. As a result, Mark Cavendish will have three altitude camps and recovery periods on the organizational calendar.
