‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ | Director of photography talks about Lady Gaga’s role: ‘She’s going to be a really cool fit for this movie”

‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ is one of the most anticipated films, this time, in addition to Joaquin Phoenix as the protagonist, the plot will have Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director of photography Lawrence Sher revealed his expectations of the singer in the production.

“She’s going to be a really cool fit for this movie and will create a similar kind of magic that Joaquin brought by himself,” says Sher. “The combination of the two will be exactly what we hope, which is exciting, and we’ll find magic every day on set. Hopefully, we’ll also have a bit of madness in there. We like it when there is a little bit of chaos.”

The director also revealed that filming of the sequel is expected to begin in the next “five or six weeks” between the cities of Los Angeles and New York.

“Joker: Folie a Deux” will be a musical thriller and the story will be divided between the characters of Gaga and Phoenix. The feature film is written and directed by Todd Phillips, the same person responsible for the first film, which won two Oscars, including best actor for Joaquin Phoenix. The film is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024.
