Kanye West released his new album Donda 2 on February 22 and it was a huge success. But the tracks will not be eligible to the Billboard ranking count, all because he decided that his songs would not be on regular streams, only on Stem Player. Despite this, he became the ‘most listened to’ Spotify artist very close to the launch, a great irony.

Billboard stated that Donda 2 isn’t available to the charts on Monday (7) claiming that the decision was made due to albums bundling company rules. For them the Stem Player is a merch and not only a player. Ye’s intention was to value his work, since for him the platforms don’t do it. He doesn’t say anything about making it available elsewhere.

Ye replied the note: “we can no longer be counted or judged, we won we won”. He also claimed that he creates his own systems and values. This is unheard of in the music world. He made a post on Instagram on Wednesday (9) declaring that the “price” has been reinvented, and celebrated the success of the project.
