Elton John, 75, and Britney Spears, 40, released this Friday (26/8) the long-awaited collaboration “Hold Me Closer”, a remix of the classic “Tiny Dancer”. The song marks the return of the “Princess of Pop” to the music world, her last release being the album “Glory” in 2016.

Spears’ triumphant return marks a new phase in the artist’s career and life, now free from her father’s guardianship which lasted more than 10 years. Britney is back on the scene and tries to start over amid the controversy with the family.

The collaboration reached #1 on iTunes in several countries, including the United States and England, and is now available on major streaming platforms.

On social media, the singer celebrated: Okie dokie… My first song in 6 years!!!! It’s pretty damn cool that I’m singing with one of the most classic men of our time…Elton John!!!! I’m kinda overwhelmed… It’s a big deal to me!!! I’m meditating more 🧘🏼‍♀️ and learning my space is valuable and precious!!!, wrote on Twitter last Wednesday (24/8).

Shortly after the release, Britney shared a video. “Hello Sir Elton John, we are number 1 in 40 countries. I’m about to have the best day of my life and I hope you’re alright,” she said happily.
