Blake Shelton announced his departure from The Voice after the 23rd season. This Tuesday (11), the star used his social networks to share his decision and recalled how the program marked his life.
“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season. This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week”, wrote Shelton.

The country singer highlights that in addition to making great friends, she also met the love of her life through the program. “I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani! l have to give a huge shout out to the singers – the ‘Voices,’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their coach”, he says. “Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at The Voice who are chasing their dreams. Would not happen without you!”, Blake finishes.
In the comments, fans were surprised by the news. “I want a tribute episode for Blake Shelton, the legend of The Voice”, asked for a follower. “Noooo! Ur the reason I watch The Voice! Best coach ever!! Good luck on your next journey”, wrote a second fan. “No sense watching it now, won’t be funny anymore!!”, said another.
As Blake Shelton prepares to say goodbye, new coaches are already booked. Niall Horan, Kelly Clarkson and Chance The Rapper will compete on the NBC show alongside their team of powerful voices.
