Emma Watson talks about special friendship with Tom Felton: “Soulmates”

Emma Watson, 32, who played Hermione in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, spoke about a different love she has for Tom Felton, 35, who played Draco Malfoy. Both starred in the first film in 2001 and were present in all eight installments of the franchise, which ended in 2011.

The statements were given by her in her friend’s autobiography, ‘Beyond the Wand’, released last Tuesday (18). According to People magazine, Watson wrote the foreword to the book, where she detailed the strong bond she has with Tom and said that “always struggle(s) to explain to people the nature of our connection and relationship”.

“For more than 20 years now we’ve loved each other in a special way, and I’ve lost count of the times that people have said to me, ‘You must have drunkenly made out, just once!’ ‘You must have kissed!’ ‘There must be something!’ ” the actress writes.

Emma then sums up what they have “is far deeper” and continues: “We’re soulmates, and we’ve always had each other’s back. I know we always will. It makes me emotional to think about it.”

“Friendships are the lynchpin of human existence, and I am so thankful that at crucial turning points in my life, Tom has been there to reassure and understand me. The friendship we share has allowed me to move through some of the most challenging and soul-searching moments in my life.”
