‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ reaches $1 billion worldwide fundraising mark

James Cameron’s film reached the historic $1 billion mark grossed at the worldwide box office in 14 days after its premiere. With this, it becomes the film to reach the mark in less time. In total, only 3 films released in 2022 have earned the mark. They were ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Jurassic World Domination’ and the Avatar himself.

Even after a long time of postponement, Cameron managed to placate the continuation of one of the most revolutionary films ever released. The film had a high budget of around $350 million. For there to be a return, production needs to reach a mark of approximately 2 billion dollars at its box office.

According to the press, this is the first of three films that Cameron intends to release. The success of ‘The way of Water’ will dictate the acclaimed director’s upcoming projects. The first film was released in 2009, and this continuation after 13 years. Experts say there may be more difficulty in connecting the audience again with the story.
