President Joe Biden said the country’s economy is the strongest in the world, as evidenced by another month of strong wage gains and job growth in January, continuing last year’s strong performance.

In the first month of 2024, the USA created 353 thousand jobs, more than expected, according to data released this Friday (2).

“It’s great news for working families that wages, wealth and jobs are higher now than before the pandemic,” Biden said in a statement posted on the White House website.

Furthermore, the Democratic leader said he does not intend to stop fighting to reduce costs in the US. 

Amid the dispute to endorse his name as the Democratic candidate for the presidential election, Biden also stated that he seeks to prevent efforts by congressional Republicans to give huge tax benefits to the rich and large corporations; reduce Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security assistance programs; and increase costs for American families.
