Until then, Luis Rubiales had ten days to request a reasoned decision, appeal the decision and file an appeal with the FIFA Appeals Committee. Previously, the former president was away for 90 days after a decision by the entity’s Disciplinary Committee, led by Jorge Ivan Palácio, to analyze his behavior with the player.

The measure applied aims to “preserve, among other factors, the fundamental rights of the national football team player and the good order of the disciplinary process underway before the disciplinary body”. In addition to the announcement, the Spanish Superior Sports Council requested a second precautionary suspension against Luis Rubiales at the Administrative Sports Court (TAD) alleging abuse of authority.
