“It was an incredible day, an incredible atmosphere in Japan. I was waiting for the final laps and I decided to just attack today, it was a great success. The route was beautiful and fun. Thanks to the fans and the atmosphere, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I will certainly never forget this moment”, said the cyclist after the end of the competition.

The match also marks a new beginning for Peter Sagan who, for the next season, is retiring from competing in the road category, maintaining his goal of participating in the Paris Olympic Games and returning to his origins with dedication and commitment to mountain biking.

“I think we will see each other again, perhaps in a different discipline. I will do my best to be in Paris for the Olympic Games. We will see if it will be possible but I believe it will be. Thank you very much, we’ll see you on mountain biking”, concluded Peter Sagan at a press conference.
