“I know that a rivalry is always good because you always strive to be the best you always want to be, to beat the best. That’s a clear goal. But I also know… next season, I’ll probably be the driver most girls want to beat. So this is again something different. We need to see what this is like in racing and how it will be”, said Demi Vollering.

With the retirement of one of the greatest athletes in the category, Annemiek van Vleuten, the cyclist will have to work hard to combat and reduce the competitors’ chances in the next matches. Demi Vollering stated that the change in direction is providing greater motivation for her to increasingly overcome her limits.
“I have a really good team around me that I can trust and I think I also need to focus a lot on having fun with the girls and hopefully everything else also comes together a little bit, the team and stuff. And then if you are feeling good, the right balance between enjoying the sport you play, enjoying training a lot, but also feeling good, feeling happy”, said the athlete.
Demi Vollering pointed out that with each change of year, women’s cycling has been improving more and more, with cyclists demonstrating enormous potential like Elise Longo Borghini. In conversation, the athlete stated that for the next season she will have routes and calendars similar to that of 2023, however, she did not provide any further details.
