Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, will appear in Delaware Court this Tuesday (3), to hear charges related to illegal possession of a firearm, in which he must plead not guilty. The process could disrupt the Democrat’s re-election plans.

The Democrat’s middle son allegedly lied on the registration document for possession of a firearm in 2018. In the questionnaire, Hunter did not admit to being a drug user.

Thus, he acknowledged that he struggled with crack addiction during that period, but his lawyers said he did not violate the law.

According to information from the Associated Press, charges of this type are rare, and another court found that prohibiting drug users from carrying weapons violates the Second Amendment under the Supreme Court’s new standards.

In this way, Hunter Biden’s lawyers are suggesting that prosecutors bowed to pressure from Republicans and that the charges were the result of political pressure.

Therefore, if found guilty, Hunter could face up to 25 years in prison.

It’s worth remembering that Joe Biden’s son is also the center of another accusation. Republicans accuse the president of profiting while he served as vice president from 2009 to 2017 from Hunter’s foreign business ventures, although they have not provided evidence.

Therefore, the accusation is the main reason that Kevin McCarthy, Republican politician and President of the House, asked for the opening of an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden about 3 weeks ago.
