New York is expected to experience the worst snowfall in the last two years this Tuesday (13th). The city woke up already covered in snow.

As a result, on Monday (12), the National Weather Service had issued a storm warning for the late afternoon in New York, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, Fairfield County in Connecticut and Bergen and Hudson counties in New Jersey.

The rain continued throughout the night and with the drop in temperatures in the early morning it turned into snow. Images show several parts of the city already being covered in snow.

Furthermore, according to New York press reports, there are no longer snow shovels in several stores, and schools have even suspended classes. The New York State Department of Transportation has put 1,500 snow plow trucks on the streets.

New York was without snow for two years until the last month, January, after a storm and the accumulated amount reached 3.8 centimeters. The weather service forecast is that the amount of snow recorded this Tuesday will be greater than this record.
