Last Wednesday (24), through social media and official websites, the Los Angeles Chargers announced that Jim Harbaugh will be the team’s newest head coach. There are rumors that Sherrone More, offensive coordinator of the University of Michigan team, will replace the coach.

The decision was already speculated by the coach’s followers and fans and the National Football League (NFL) due to rumors that Jim Harbaugh had conducted interviews for the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, as well as other teams that expressed interest in the coach.

In an attempt to make Jim Harbaugh remain at the University of Michigan, the institution had made a proposal to the coach with a six-year contract worth approximately US$11.5 million and, close to the deadline for the definition, they further increased the numbers. However, it wasn’t enough for him to stay on the team.

Previously, the University of Michigan shone on the field and secured first place in the College Football Playoff championship in a match against Washington. The achievement made the institution win the national title after 26 years since 1996, its last honor.

Jim Harbaugh’s time at the University of Michigan was somewhat controversial. In recent months, the coach has been involved in processes, investigations and infractions that are prohibited in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), such as being accused of having carried out training and recruitment during the turbulent period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
