The awards season continues! The biggest film awards outside the U.S. has unveiled its list of nominees for 2018.
From Guillermo del Toro’s critically acclaimed The Shape of Water to debutant Greta Gerwig’s Ladybird, this is the full list of nominees to the British Academy awards.
Just two days after kicking off the awards season on this side of the Atlantic, Natalia Dormer and Letitia Wright announced on Tuesday morning the 2018 nominees to the BAFTA awards. Joanna Lumeley was also presented as the new host of this year’s edition, replacing Stephen Fry after the comedian announced last week that he will no return to the ceremony in 2018.
Just as it happened in the Golden Globes, where it was hailed winner for Best Director and Best Soundtrack, The Shape of Water tops the list of nominees competing in 12 categories, followed by Darkest Hour with nine, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri also with nine, Blade Runner 2049 with eight, and Dunkirk with the same number.
The 2018 BAFTA awards will be held on February 18th from the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London.
