The writing is on the wall…or rather, in the sand – Sam Smith is working on the highly anticipated follow-up to his blockbuster debut album.
While strolling on a beach in Australia, the honey-toned singer took to Instagram to tease his fans with the title of his new album.
“I just wrote my new album title in the sand,” Smith captioned his picture. “I always start new projects with a working title or message of what I’m trying to say – then the writing flows for me.”
The picture doesn’t reveal the title in full, though and the singer said his tentative title might be up for change. “When I’m finished – I’ll reveal the rest of this picture. Then we can see if the message stayed the same (I change my mind a lot).”Smith recently contributed the track “Writing’s on the Wall” to the 24th James Bond film, Spectre, as a lead-in to his work on his second album.
Smith’s debut, In the Lonely Hour, has sold more than 8.5 million copies and earned the 23-year-old four Grammy Awards.
