Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan are so generously donating $5 million toward scholarships for hundreds of undocumented students in the Bay Area.

They are making the donation through ‘TheDream.US,’ which was founded by former Washington Post publisher and Facebook board member Donald Graham.

“America was founded as a nation of immigrants. We ought to welcome smart and hardworking young people from every nation, and to help everyone in our society achieve their full potential.  If we help more young immigrants climb the ladder to new opportunities, then our country will make greater progress.”

Zuckerberg has supported immigration reform as the “biggest civil rights issue of our time.” He started a group, ‘Fwd.us,’ which has spent millions lobbying for immigration reform in Washington, D.C.

This act of generosity will fund 400 scholarships to bay Area students. This is the second contribution from the couple. A year ago the couple committed $2.5 million to the fund.

NICE going Zuckerbergs!
