The organizers of the 88th Academy Awards have announced the list of presenters and performers set to take the stage at the controversial 28 February event.
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science announced a diverse list of 11 participants set to take center stage at the event that has been marred by the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
Kevin Hart, Benicio Del Toro, Whoopi Goldberg, Ryan Gosling, Tina Fey, Charlize Theron, Pharrell Williams and Jacob Tremblay will all announce some of this year’s Oscar winners.
Best Song Award nominees Lady Gaga, the Weeknd and Sam Smith were also announced as performers on the night.
The announcement was highly-anticipated after a number of black entertainers announced they would be boycotting the event after a backlash erupted over the lack of diversity among the Oscar nominees.
