David Bowie got great news mere days before his death shook the world: He was going to be a granddad.
Bowie’s son Duncan Jones took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal that he had given the rock icon the great news on Christmas before he died following a secret battle with cancer.
Jones tweeted a Christmas card, a drawing of an unborn baby, he had made for his father and captioned it: “1 month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad.”
Jones’ wife Rodene Ronquillo then retweeted the image along with her own message: “Shame on those of you who just thought I was really fat and didn’t say anything. HAHA. ;)”
Film director Duncan is David Bowie’s eldest son and his mother is the musician’s first wife, Angie Bowie. Sadly, Duncan and Angie have been estranged for more than 30 years.
David Bowie died on January 10 this year after a very private battle with liver cancer.
