Instead of simply enjoying her new music, Beyoncé fans have swarmed to attack the lyrical subject of her new confessional release.
The 34-year-old diva this weekend released her surprise visual album Lemonade and the confessional song “Sorry” has mobilized fans into the usual misguided internet mob.
The song contains the brutally honest lyric:
Looking at my watch, he shoulda been home
Today I regret the night I put that ring on
The song also contains a lyric that has fans believing Jay-Z cheated on their Queen Bee:
He only want me when I’m not there
He better call Becky with the good hair
Since the song’s release, fans with nothing better to do have been targeting who they think “Becky” is: Fashion designer Rachel Roy.
The 42-year-old Roy then stoked the flames shortly after the release of Lemonade by posting a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens.”
She has since made her Instagram account private and deleted that picture.
On Twitter, she tweeted: “I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”
Let’s see how this goes…yikes!
