Simon Cowell has dropped the big L-word in reference to Liam Payne’s relationship with singer and dancer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
The music mogul who launched Payne’s career with boy band One Direction on The X Factor told UK newspaper The Sun that Payne and Fernandez-Versini are “in love.”
“I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were on good form,” Cowell said. “They’re like two little chipmunks madly in love.”
Fernandez-Versini was also a host of the 2010 edition of the UK talent show when Payne was competing. The pair reportedly stayed in touch since and started dating late last year.
At 32, Fernandez-Versini is the 22-year-old pop singer’s senior by 10 years.
“Importantly they both seemed very happy over here and very relaxed. I’m happy for them,” Cowell said.
