Ruby Rose has attempted to explain away throwing fries at a waiter in a New Orleans restaurant on Friday.
The xXx: The Return of Xander actress was celebrating “Fry-day the 13th” with some burgers and fries, but soon got thrown out of The Rebellion Bar and Urban Kitchen for throwing food at her server.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page on Saturday, Rose said: “We waited 60 minutes for fries and over 90 minutes for food that never actually arrived.”
“When I asked about it, the bartender offered us drinks. I explained I’m sober, but thank you,” she continued. “He then made some really rude and vulgar comments to the table.”
“So I threw a singular fry at him.”
“When someone makes repeated derogatory jokes about the sobriety I worked so hard to achieve, it’s hard not to react emotionally,” Rose went on to write.
The owner of the restaurant didn’t have much sympathy for the actress and said: “She was having like a tantrum. She was awful.”
Rose ended her emotional statement by washing her hands of any responsibily for her own reaction, saying: “Every day I learn new lessons about handling cultural and social ignorance.”
“Maybe next time I won’t throw fries, then again, maybe next time that bartender won’t tell someone who is sober to ‘go call your f***ing sponsor!’”
