Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer are splitting up after nine years of marriage.
The 41-year-old Spider-Man actor and the jewelry designer said in a statement that their relationship is coming to an end, but their children Ruby (9) and Otis (7) will remain their top priority, People magazine reports.
“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” the pair said in their statement.
“As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”
The couple married in Hawaii in 2007 and their personal life has for the most part remained relatively private. The 39-year-old Meyer said at the time: “Let’s just say this is truly the best time of my life.”
“I’m walking on air. I’m getting married, starting a family and have an amazing company.”
We wish them the best as this chapter in their lives ends.
