Amy Schumer may have had a terrible kidney infection. She may have spent five days straight laying in a hospital bed. But she’s still, in fact, feeling pretty.
The always hilarious Amy had a pretty busy week battling a kidney infection that put her in the hospital right on time for the London premiere of her new movie I Feel Pretty. Following her doctors’ recommendations, the comedian had to skip the big event, but that didn’t stop her from being her usual, fun self, giving her fans a “glamorous” glimpsed of what happened.
“Here’s what I’ve been up to this week. I was hospitalized for 5 days with a horrible kidney infection,” Amy explained in a lengthy Instagram post. “I wanted to share this with you because this is sexy as hell but mostly because I was meant to go to London for the opening of I Feel Pretty and my doctors have told me that’s a no go. I’m really disappointed selfishly to miss this trip because I love London and Europe in general and all the great people (food there). But I need to put my health first.”
The newly wedded Amy also took the chance to thank her husband Chris Fischer (in sickness and in health, am I right, Chris?), as well as the hospital’s staff and everyone who stood by her side as she recovered from the infection.
“I want to give a big thank you to the doctors, the bad a** nurses, also my husband whose name is, I want to say, Chris? And my sister Kimby and Mol who have been by my side the whole time.”
We’re not sure Amy is pitying any girl who isn’t her tonight.
