Billie Lourd Honors Grandma Debbie Reynolds On What Would’ve Been Her 86th Birthday

It’s been over a year since the world tragically and unexpectedly lost the amazing Carrie Fisher and the talented Debbie Reynolds—and we still aren’t over it. But the young Billie Lourd, daughter and granddaughter of the deceased actresses, has truly helped the rest of the world through the losses by keeping the stars’ memories alive, just like she did in her most recent post on Instagram.

Actress Billie Lourd paid tribute to her late grandmother Debbie Reynolds on what would have been the 86th birthday of the actress and comedian.

Lourd shared a moving picture on the platform posing alongside her grandmother as the two of them sport wide smiles, while a third woman, possibly the late Carrie Fisher, nestles her head into Reynolds’ shoulder. A simple caption of a heart, a crown, and a star emoji completed the touching tribute.

The Singing In The Rain star passed away on December 28, 2016 from a fatal stroke just one day after the death of her daughter Carrie, result of a heart attack, took her by surprise.

Since their unexpected deaths, Billie has opened up about her grieving and her new life without her mother and grandmother.

“If life is not funny, then it’s just true— and that would be unacceptable,” the 25-year-old actress said in an interview in 2017, quoting her mom. “Even when she died, that was what got me through that whole thing” Lourd recalled. “When Debbie died the next day, I could just picture her saying ‘Well, she’s upstaging me once again, of course—she had to do.'”

Despite difficult recent years, it seems that Billie Lourd is doing well as she continues to focus on her career, starring in the seventh season of American Horror Story, as well as working in Scream Queens and the Star Wars saga.
